and her husband live in the little hamlet of Annapolis on ranchland
homesteaded by the Boyds and the McMillans over 100 years ago. The
drive out to Annapolis is a pleasant one and the weather is usually
a bit warmer and less windy than the coast. Yvonne started making
beaded jewelry and planting California native plants shortly after
moving to Annapolis. Semi-precious stones, wire and chain began her
real love of jewelry.

In October, 1998 she took her first jewelry class. A soldering class
helped her with her fear of chemicals and heat used in jewelry repair.
Most of what she knows about jewelry has come from a myriad of books, a
few classes, videos and the wealth of knowledge of the 3000+ members of
an online jewelry forum called Orchid.
Every year Yvonne tries to add another technique to her art such as
Reticulation and Piercing. This year it has been patterns on rings,
bracelets and pendants she gets with the help of a small rolling mill,
lace and patterned rollers. Her goals for the future are fold-forming,
chasing, repousse, setting stones, Keum-Boo, PMC clay and enameling.

Yvonne alloys some of her own metals for special
projects like Shibuichi. The metals she works with are high and low
karat gold, colored gold, sterling silver, fine silver, copper and
brass.
You can visit her little studio at any time by calling for an
appointment to make sure she is home. |
