Eileen Borgeson

MIXED MEDIA SCULPTURE

Eileen is a prolific artist whose work is collected worldwide. Her mixed media expressions employ state-of-the-art technologies, including dichroic optical glass, blown, bent and carved glass, neon, fiberoptics, and holography. Her sculptures have been cast in bronze, crystal, brass and aluminum with materials such as marble. Gold, metal foils, oil paints and gems accent her works.

During his last 7 years, Eileen worked with the Art Deco Master ERTE, re-creating his whimsical exotic females carved and illuminated in German optical crystal. Quoting ERTE on her interpretations "can idealization of my work, you see the image floating like a dream."

For Yoko Ono and the John Lennon Estate, Eileen recreated John's drawings, carved in optical crystal, filled with 23K gold with marble frames. Recently, for B.B. King's 75th Birthday, MCA Records commissioned Eileen to create his "Lucille" guitar in water jet cut optical crystal, polished, carved with 23 K gold.

Major art installations include: 9 carved, glass 'mermaid' panels, 5' high, 23K gold, fiberoptics, kinetic bubble walls with two life-sized mermaid sculptures for Bally's Casino, in Las Vegas. A lobby display (Silicon Valley) consists of 6 layer, carved optical crystal "computer chip" kinetically lit with neon. An 11'x14' carved black glass world map, with oil paints, fiberoptics, and stainless steel.

Promax International annually presents (in 6 worldwide ceremonies) her gold, silver and marble Muse Sculptures to the Best in the international electronic advertising industry. R. S. Owens, who casts the Oscar and the Emmy Awards, initially made the Muses. She also has created annual awards for WB, Disney and Fox TV.

Her limited edition vases and light sculptures of Warner Bros., Disney and Chuck Jones characters have been distributed through their Gallery stores.
