Marji Ingersoll has been an artist for over 30 years, working in oils, stained glass, pen & ink, batik, clay and bronze before settling on tile-painting and opening her studio/gallery
in downtown Gualala in January, 1991.
In 2001, she opened her 2nd studio in Pacific Grove with her husband Tom.
Her recent commissions include a 36" x 18" tile mural entitled "View of Black Point Beach, Sea Ranch." And a series of 50 pastel tiles for a Sea Ranch kitchen.
In the Spring, 2002, she taught for Art-in-the-Schools and completed 3 tile mural projects (hung in Point Arena & Manchester Elementary Schools):
- "Self-Portraits" - a series of 28 4-tile murals - 5th graders
- "Salmon" - a 20-tile mural - 3rd graders
- "Under The Sea" - an 84-tile mural - 3rd-4th-5th graders
She is a member of the North Coast Artists' Guild, the Tile Heritage Foundation, and Gualala Arts. She is the 2002 Studio Tour Director and designed the 24-page color brochure.
