For the past few years I've concentrated on drawing and painting in
watercolor, primarily
because so much of my painting time occurs when I'm traveling. Restricting
my media to those easy to carry and clean has the added benefit of
concentrating my skills on the
basics of composition, values and quality of line. At this point, I don't
really feel I've been
in a place until I've had a chance to draw it. The more I draw, the more
I see and the more the world shows itself to be painfully beautiful,
infinitely complex and mysterious -- especially here on the Redwood Coast.
My life has zigzagged between art and engineering and also zigzagged
around the planet.
Before moving to California, I lived in Copenhagen, New York, Paris,
Atlanta, Sarasota, Jackson, and Ann Arbor. Through it all, I've continued
painting, although I just recently started to show again. My work can be
seen in galleries in New Orleans, LA and Gualala, CA.
