Darshan has been a Mendocino Coast artist for 18 years. Her ceramic art
has
a marine style theme that has evolved over the years. These mosaic
mirrors
include many hand made round pieces of Egyptian paste, a recipe that
originated
in ancient times. Salt is added to pull the colorants to the surface
leaving a luminescent effect. The dolphins were formed during a magical
interactive Hawaiian adventure, and the starfish, waves and corals are
hand sculpted,
fired and glazed as well. She enjoys the alchemy of creating her own
glazes
from raw ingredients. Also included are pieces of beach glass and other
objects collected during her frequent walks on the Mendocino Coast, where
she
resides.
