Bill Lange is a photographer. Photography has evolved from a passionate
hobby to a major creative commitment for Bill. He has a unique view of the
world. Through his craft and experience, he is able to capture images that
reflect that distinctive vision.
His images of the northern California coast reflect his awe and
appreciation for its rugged beauty. Landscapes, seascapes, details,
abstracts, capture the mood and the feeling in either color or black and
white prints.
Photographic styles are as individual as each photographer is unique.
An analogy of his style would be similar to that of a jazz musician.
Learning and practicing the craft of photography. He is inspired by the
light, how he feels about the subject, and his interaction with all. His
approach is more intuitive than analytical. His style has certain
characteristics:
- Seizing the moment of the experience
- Capturing the mood and emotion
- Trying to use natural or existing light
Bill has been practicing his craft for over thirty years using various
photographic tools and techniques. Bill has attended many photographic
workshops on landscape photography, portraiture and composition. During
the last five years his primary instruments have been digital. Although he
uses technological tools, his images reflect the world as seen through his
eyes and mind.
Bill has won numerous photographic competitions and his work has been
published in the San Jose Mercury News, San Jose Magazine, the ICO and a
variety of other venues.
Bill has his own freelance photography business specializing in a
documentary and photojournalistic approach to weddings, portraits,
corporate events, and custom projects. The images are available matted or
framed in a variety of sizes. They are printed on archival paper with
archival inks.
